So you finally bought a new smartphone. Now you need to get yourself some apps. Apps, short for applications, are what the smartphone experience is built on. Depending on the smartphone you bought, there will be an ‘app store’ where you can download apps to make your smartphone more useful and entertaining.

One of the most popular smartphone apps is Facebook. If you are a Facebook user you will find this free app a fun way to connect with your friends and family on the go. Another very popular app is a banking app.You can find a quick rundown here Many banks have apps so that you can easily check your account balance, transfer money and pay bills online, all with your phone.

Online gaming is a fun way to kill time during your morning commute if you take the train. Angry Birds has been taking the online gaming world by storm. With its absurd premise and amusing graphics, millions of people have found this silly little game a fun diversion. While this app is not free, the cost is minimal and it is consistently among one of the most commonly download apps on the market.

With so many new technologies and electronics coming out on a daily basis, if you are looking for a great deal on PDAs, you are going to want to consider the best brands. The most economical, and the best rated devices, have generally been sold by HP as well as Toshiba. Both of these companies make a great product, and sell their products on the lower priced end, in order to keep up with the pricier competitors, such as Apple. Other great companies which have also sold for an economical price include Tangstun as well as Compaq.Didn’t catch that? This explains it. Both of these companies offer a great handheld device, and they are quite economical, especially today since so many new products have come out since the initial introduction of these PDA devices. HP is most notable in the economical department, with 5 products noted in the PDA sales, and offering the best features, for the lowest prices. The company always offers the best quality, and strives to give consumers a great product, for a price that they can afford. So, the next time you are looking for a great handheld PDA, you may want to consider checking out HP, before the other brands.

Choosing the right smartphone can be tough – since you’ve got clearwire coverage, do you need the data plan? How about the cases that are offered? There a lot of questions to ask yourself when you’re picking and we happen to think these are the most important:
Form or Function: you’ve got to ask yourself – are you more about the way your phone looks or how utilitarian it is? This can dictate whether you pick a slider or an Android and certainly whether or not you go with an iPhone. Just think about it.
What’s the Primary Use: If you need a smartphone for business you’re leaning more towards a BlackBerry but if you use your phone for personal things like texting and photos you may be better off with a touch-screen model. It all depends on what you decide.
Are there Apps: One thing to decide is how important apps are to you. If there are some really great, functional apps out there you know you’ll want you’ve got to choose a phone with a platform that can support them. Not all apps are created equal.

GPS is a wonderful service that allows the location of a wireless device to be picked up via satellite. The acronym GPS is short for Global Positioning System which is basically what it is. It is a system’s position within the globe. Most newer cellular devices now come equipped with GPS for safety reasons so that calls to 911 can be traced and help can be sent even if the victim can no longer speak. Here are two other uses for GPS on a person’s wireless smartphone:

Driving Directions: The most common use of GPS on wireless smartphones is driving directions. With GPS users can be directed via computerized cell phone voice on where to go to get to a specific location. All the user has to do is punch in the address where they wish to drive and the GPS picks up the current location and figures out a route to get to the new destination. The computer voice will then direct the driver right to the front door!

Child Location: Parents can use GPS to keep track of where their teens are with the cell phones. Family Locater is one of the many applications that allow an account holder to monitor where a particular phone moves. It is a great way to keep track of the children who use the phones. Can’t get enough? There’s more: How to Locate Mobile Phone Location

The ability to receive email via smartphone is a Godsend. People no longer have to fire up a laptop and find a Wi-Fi connection to see the new messages in their inbox. The 3G and 4G network makes everything instant. Smartphone can simply remove the phone from their pockets and touch the screen.

There are a couple of tips for those that obtain messages this way. The biggest thing is the push notifications. Smartphone users that receive lots of spam mail should be weary of using the push notification feature. When the push notification is turned on the phone will signal the owner every time a new message is received. This means that all spam mail that doesn’t get caught in the spam folder will alert the owner of a new message. These notifications could warn you every couple of minutes if you get lots of spam mail. People that can’t control spam will want to turn this feature off.

People that use Exchange server mail accounts should also know that the recent mail is the only thing shown in the inbox. You will not be able to access mail from last month through Exchange server accounts on the smartphone.

Laptops and PDAs are two of the most popular electronic devices in use today. A laptop is a small computer that can literally fit into a person’s lap. A PDA is a Personalized Digital Assistant. There are advantages and disadvantages to using both.

Laptops are great because they can be taken on long trips and they can be used just like desktop computers but without the extra bulk. They are perfect for traveling. The down side of owning a laptop is that they over heat very quickly. They are also very tiny and typing is very easily cramped which is not so good for the student or the frequent writer.

There is more than one type of PDA. Some come with cell phone service attached and some do not. The benefit to using a PDA with cell phone service attached is obviously the cell phone service. The benefit to using a PDA that does not have a cell phone service attached is the size. People who enjoy having a pocket sized computer will love a PDA. The disadvantages to having a PDA are the extremely small keypads, the restricted operating systems, and the incompatibility of certain software.

Both laptops and PDAs are excellent devices to have. It is up to you to weigh the pros and cons and decide which one is right for you.

Browsing the web with your PDA device is just one of the wonderful things that you will be able to do. Your PDA device will take you to shopping sites, blogs, music pages, and anywhere else you want to go with a few simple clicks.

The first thing you must do in order to browse the web with your PDA device is have an internet connection. Mostly these connections are provided by a cell phone service provider as a part of your monthly contract. Internet can also be obtained using a WiFi connection or mobile Hotspot.

Once you have obtained an internet connection the next step is to activate the web browser on your PDA device. This is done by simply touching your browser icon (if you have a touch screen) or selecting menu and then browser. Your browser will then open up and connect to the internet.

You will have to specify the web address that you would like to connect to. This must be entered into your address bar at the top of the screen. Type in the appropriate url of the place you want to go and then press the go button which is usually located right next to your address bar. You are now on your way to browsing the web!
